Jamie got her start in wrestling by training at Jason Knight's "House of Pain Pro Wrestling Dojo." She came into TNA/Impact at the start of the new Knockout division with the then brand new Knockouts Championship. Velvet later formed the most popular women's tag team of all the "The Beautiful People" with Angelina Love. She won the Knockouts Tag Team Championship with Lacey Von Erich & Madison Rayne as part of a new version of the Beautiful People. Date: February 16th, 2012 Show: Impact Recap: The Knockouts have an over the top battle royal to determine the #1 contender to Gail Kim's Knockouts Championship. Velvet is one of the last 3 Knockouts standing with Sarita and Angelina Love. Angelina & Sarita double team Velvet and keep her down as long as they can. As Angelina is trying to throw Velvet out Sarita take advantage and throws Angelina out. It's down to just Velvet and Sarita. As Sarita is charging Velvet she pulls the bottom rope down and Sarita goes flying over it. Velvet has won the battle royal....so we think. Madison runs in from ringside and throws Velvet out making her the official # 1 contender. Detailed Results

It’s that time of year! The closing of 2011 is coming which means we are having our annual countdown of Velvet’s best moments of the year. We will countdown what in my opinion are the best moments for any Velvet fan and for Velvet herself. This year I’ve named the countdown “Skylighting 2011 Countdown.” Enjoy!
#04 – September 15th Impact – Velvet is Bound for Glory
Coming in at #4 is none other than our very own Velvet Sky getting her shot at Bound for Glory for the Knockouts Championship by qualifying in Karen Jarrett’s “Queens Challenge” to face then champion Winter. What a better way for Velvet to make it to Bound for Glory for her shot at the gold then defeating her former partner Angelina Love to get there. This is a no brainer to make it onto the countdown. This was the match that propelled Velvet into getting her shot for the belt and was a very entertaining match at that. Not only that, but Velvet even over came the odds when Winter tried to sway the match in Angelina’s way so that Velvet had no chance. Was a very proud moment for Velvet fans to see her finally rewarded for her hard to and a way for Velvet to show her haters what she was made of and what she could do.

#05 – June 9th Impact – Fighting the Demons of Knockouts Past
We are breaking into the the top 5 and we look at the June 9th Impact when Velvet took on rival ODB. A few weeks back ODB made her return to Impact and immediately targeted Velvet. ODB claimed that girls like Velvet were the reason she was no longer with the company. Velvet defended herself well making sure ODB knew that Velvet was here due to her hard work and talent. In this match Velvet proved just that as she took on ODB and went toe to toe with her defeating her in a match one on one with help from absolutely no one. This match really started putting Velvet on the map as a top competitor in the Knockouts division by defeating a former champion and one very tough opponent.
On Velvet’s one and only official Twitter she posted an absolutely stunning photo of her new darker look with her hair. I actually really like it. Wanna see it for yourself? Check it out now in our gallery.
This year we will be doing a poll to determine which of Velvet’s Impact photoshoot from 2011 was the fan favorite. Velvet had a total of 17 new shoots released and each one were absolutely gorgeous in their own way. Now in this poll you may vote for you favorite, but you can only choose one. #06 – May 19th Impact – Outnumbered Victory
We are at #6 on our countdown and we go all the way back to the May 19th Impact when Velvet took on former partner Angelina Love and her leader Winter in a 2 vs 1 match. This match made our countdown because it was another match of the year with Velvet proving that she could make it on her own as a singles competitor. She took on 2 very talented Knockouts, in a handicapped match, in a very heated rivalry and came out victorious. Earlier in the night too Velvet got more revenge on Karen Jarrett which made the night even that more sweet. The night didn’t finish as good as it could have though for our Velvet when ODB decided to attach Velvet after her victorious match which did start a very good heated rivalry for the summer months.

#07 – July 21st Impact – The Golden Knockouts Brawl
For #7 we are reliving Velvet first shot at the Knockouts title when Mickie James was the champion back in July of this year. For a while Mickie had been teasing that Velvet deserved a shot at her title and now was finally the time we’d see if Velvet could capture the one thing missing from her career with Impact Wrestling. Unfortunately we never get to see the title match since Angelina, Winter, ODB and Jackie all interfere before the match even starts and Traci Brooks also runs in to even everything up. This is considered one the the ultimate Knockouts brawls of the year and maybe even a top one for the company. A very heated rivalry with each girl is being laid out for all the see in an all out brawl. Was absolutely a very memorable moment for the year and kept a very good heated storyline going between all the Knockouts.

#08 – May 5th Impact – Velvet and the Gold Medalist
Next we look back to the May 5th Impact episode for #8 on our countdown. At this show Velvet teamed with Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle to take on both their arch nemesis Jeff & Karen Jarrett, Winter & Angelina Love. I decided to place this in the 8th spot for a few reasons. It was a really great mixed tag match which are rare to come by in Impact and it really was just the beginning of Karen plotting against Velvet and Winter using Angelina against her also. The overall match was great with Kurt and Velvet getting the win and the bragging rights for the future with Velvet even getting the pin in the big match when she delivered a great DDT against Winter.

#09 – March 10th Impact – The Beautiful People Rid Us of The Jersey Shore
Our next moment on the countdown is when Angelina from the Jersey Shore decided to invade the Impact zone and team up with Cookie & Sarita. Velvet teamed with her Beautiful People partner Angelina Love and Winter was teaming with them. Robbie E invades the ring grabbing Velvet, but Winter makes the save and takes the rest of the team out while Velvet rolls us Angelina to get the win. This was a memorable moment to the year since Jersey Shore was a big deal and having Velvet defeat the invading Angelina was the start of Velvet showing off why 2011 was going to be her year. It was also another interesting moment in the Winter fighting for Angelina angle when Winter did end up helping Velvet out in the match.

Lee South & Velvet Sky are at it again! The duo are bringing you singed 18×24 poster prints of a currently unreleased photoshoot! For $45 you can get this print that is signed by Velvet and there are only 20 in existence. So you better hurry while there are some. The photo comes from a shoot with Impact photographer Lee South when the Knockouts were having a bikini car wash during the December 1st Impact. Hopefully the entire shoot will be released shortly.
Dixie Carter posted on her Twitter page a preview to the Against All Odds PPV poster that’s coming up February 2012 and our very own Velvet Sky is featured on the poster. Although it’s really just an edited photo from Velvet’s Christmas shoot this year, it’s still a really cool poster and awesome concept and everything. Also, does this mean a possible match preview on the PPV with Gail sharing the poster? Let’s hope so!

#10 – October 20th Impact – Velvet’s Knockouts Championship Victory Speech
To start the countdown this year we’re visiting the October 20th Impact when Velvet Sky came out to give her speech after finally capturing her very 1st Knockouts Championship at Bound for Glory. It took Velvet exactly 4 years to capture her first singles championship with the company when she went on the defeat Madison Rayne, Mickie James & Winter with her rival Karen Jarrett as the special referee. Unfortunately for Velvet the night wasn’t all she dreamed it be. Karen Jarrett came down and ruined it and Madison Rayne and the returning Gail Kim brutally attacked Velvet on her special night.
